The new Apple Card is starting to slowly roll out to a few selected fans who were pre-selected. Sadly, I was not among them, but the full rollout should come in a few weeks. And this is just the tip of the Apple iceburg.Apple also rolled out Beta 6 of iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and watchOS 6 today. However, we are at that point when the beta releases show up at random intervals and major new features are replaced by bug fixes. I upgraded my iPhone and Watch when I got home from work, but nothing exciting to report, so far.
There is far more coming soon from Apple. Sort of soon, but not soon enough. The new iPhone is just over a month away from being announced, as September 10th looks like the most logical date based on past event timing. With all of the new features already revealed, leakers have now moved on to the 2020 and 2021 iPhones so they will have something to talk about.
Apple Arcade and TV+ are coming in the Fall, but I think we already know must of what we are going to get except for pricing. New iPads are too far out, so only one potential rumor has surfaced, and it is a rehash from this Spring. Watch rumors usually don’t show up until right before release and this year has been even more quiet than usual. With few new hardware features likely, there isn’t much buzz, at least not yet. Considering how hard it is for Apple to keep supply chain secrets, we would likely know by now if anything groundbreaking was coming.
So unless another Siri scandal comes out of the woodwork, that’s about it for the next two to three weeks. Get ready for a lot of articles about the Apple Card and Apple’s current R&D spending. Yep, we have officially reached the Dog Days of summer, which also means a brief dead season for Apple News.
Don’s get me wrong. I’m not closing up shop, as there is still plenty to talk about without covering fresh rumors. Just fair warning that you will seeing a thousand variations of the same article until the iPhone announcement is upon us. Maybe its a good time to soak up some dog days sun before Fall arrives.
