Tomorrow’s Apple Event has been covered ad nauseam, so you don’t need to get yet another recap of what’s coming from me. At this point, it seems pretty clear that we will be hearing about the Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, iPad Air, iPad and probably one or two new Apple services. That should be it and that’s good enough for me.
In fact, I don’t think my wallet could stand too much more. A new stainless Apple Watch Series 6 should set me back $699 plus tax. And the rumor is that Apple will be increasing the price of the iPad Air from $499 to $599, which doesn’t sound too unreasonable considering the upgrade it’s getting. However, dropping $1300 in one week with more Apple gear still to come this fall is nothing to sneeze at. I’m selling my old Apple Watch, so that will bring back a little, at least.
Is anyone else out there looking to preorder a new Apple Watch or iPad Air tomorrow or later this week? If you are looking at Watches, which one are you interested in, the Series 6, or the SE? Are you an iPad fan looking interested in the Air’s new iPad Pro-like features? What about Apple’s new fitness service or Apple One services bundle?
Or are you holding out for Apple’s next event, which should come with plenty of iPhone news. The way things are lining up, I would also expect all of the other items we’ve been hearing about, like AirPods Studio, AirTags and a new HomePod, to show up at that event, as well. I will probably pick up an AirTag or two, but I am DEFINITELY getting a set of AirPods Studio. In fact, I’m probably more excited about them than any other Apple item coming this fall. Anyone else looking forward to something coming in October?
According to Mark Gurman earlier today, it looks like the first of the ARM MacBooks will be arriving sometime in November. There’s no way to know if there will be a third event specifically for this release, but I suspect that there might be. Who’s looking forward to buying the first of Apple’s new Macs?
I can’t imagine buying one right up front, but I have to admit that this new direction is intriguing. I might look for one used or on sale a few months after release, especially if Apple reprises the 12′ MacBook with a processor that’s truly designed for the form factor.
