I am a Christian husband and father of 3 living in the Southeastern US. I have worked as a programmer and project manager in the Commercial and Industrial Automation industry for over 19 years, so I am hands on with technology almost every day. However, my passion in technology is for mobile devices, specifically Apple's iOS and iPadOS hardware and software. My favorite is still the iPad.

If you have an older or base model vehicle, then a backup and parking assistance system may seem out of reach. However, there are options that are far less expensive than you might think.

I Love Having AirPods Again

After seven months without a pair, I guess I forgot just how much I enjoy using Apple’s AirPods. That enjoyment, in turn, feeds into how much I use them. The convenience factor and solid battery life make extended use pretty much inevitable, and that has definitely been the case over the last week.

Apple Poaches Another AI Expert From Google

Don’t look now, but Apple has hired another big name AI expert away from Google Brain. A year ago it was John Giannandrea who they managed to lure away from Sunnyvale. Now they have reportedly poached Senior Staff Research Scientist Ian Goodfellow, as well.

Deals: iPM 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad

So AirPower is officially no more. Apple may not have been able to deliver a high-end wireless charger, but plenty of other companies have solid basic models available. iPM’s 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad is one such product worth taking a look at.

Logitech FINALLY Announces a New iPad Pro Keyboard Case

Logitech was the one third party accessory company that brought out keyboard cases for the first two generations of the iPad Pro right after release. They were also the only ones besides Apple to make use of the Smart Connector for their keyboards, rather than relying on Bluetooth.

Their Create cases for the original Pro were a bit heavy and bulky, but had great backlit keyboards. The Slim Combo cases that they released right after the 2017 iPad Pros were even better. In fact, the Slim Combo for the 12.9″ Pro is still my favorite keyboard case of all time. It was a near-perfect balance of protection, portability and utility.

Failure to Launch: AirPower Shows Off Some of the Best and Worst of Apple

At this point, I’m sure that everyone is aware of what happened with the long-delayed AirPower. The news itself is certainly interesting, as Jobs and post-Jobs Apple had always been bulletproof in its ability to deliver on announced products. This time it didn’t, and I think this failure simultaneously shows off some of the best and worst aspects of the company.

The New iPad Air: Stuck in the Middle with You

I spent most of yesterday taking the new iPad Mini for a spin and watching my daughter have a blast with it. Now it’s time to focus on the new iPad Air. Where the Mini felt almost foreign because I haven’t used one for so long, the new Air still feels quite familiar. Even though I didn’t hang onto it, I tried the 10.5″ iPad Pro when it was released in 2017. I really liked it, but the 12.9″ still won out, in the end.

Day One with the iPad Mini 5

I got the new Mini 5 unboxed and set it up to load my backup yesterday before bed so it would be ready to roll today. When I got up this morning, it was fully restored and my first gen Apple Pencil was charged and ready.

Deals: VAVA Voom20 Bluetooth Speaker

Summer is coming fast and before long, many of us will be hanging out by the pool or at the beach. If you want to bring the tunes along, a smartphone alone isn’t going to cut it. While a Bluetooth speaker is the obvious choice, you have to get one that can stand up to a little water and sand.
