I am a Christian husband and father of 3 living in the Southeastern US. I have worked as a programmer and project manager in the Commercial and Industrial Automation industry for over 19 years, so I am hands on with technology almost every day. However, my passion in technology is for mobile devices, specifically Apple's iOS and iPadOS hardware and software. My favorite is still the iPad.

Deals: Layze Phone Holder

There is no shortage of stands that work with the iPhone, but flexibility of positioning  isn’t a feature that you often find. Most simply hold your phone in one orientation at between one to five different angles. Most are also only designed to be used on a flat, stationary surface. The Layzee Phone Holder from RAWtronics breaks this mold, allowing almost limitless positioning options and the ability to anchor to all kinds of different surfaces.

In Case There Was Any Doubt, Apple Confirms Their Intentions in AR

You know the old phrase “follow the money?” Well Apple left us a pretty clear trail that came to light this week, and it leads directly to their intentions in Augmented Reality. The rumors that Apple is working toward making a set of stylish and accessible AR glasses have steadily gained steam over the last two years. We even have a report from a reliable source in Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman from last year, talking about Apple working toward a 2020 release date. However, Apple’s recent acquisition of Akonia Holographics is no rumor, and the implications are pretty clear.

The Cat’s Out of the Bag- Apple’s Event and New iPhones in Focus

It’s official. Apple sent out invitations to all the cool kids today, and to absolutely no one’s surprise, the happy day is Wednesday, September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park. For all us small timers and working stiffs, there’s always the video stream. Not that I’m complaining. Apple’s now polished video streams certainly beat the old days of following live blogs to get the news as things unfolded.

I’m Just Over Here Holding Out Hope for Pencil Support on the New iPhone

I’ve been begging for it for the last two years. With the big changes that came with the X, I was hoping that last year would be the year. However, it wasn’t to be. I can understand it, since there was already so much going on with the new design. I thought this would be the year. A new, large screen iPhone X Plus sounded like the perfect candidate. There was even a rumor a few days ago that gave me hope, but I lost a little of it today.

So Which iPad Pro Are You Interested In?

As clear and consistent as the rumors have been, I think we can take them at face value at this point. New iPad Pros with little to no bezels, Face ID, and no Home Buttons are on the way, and could be here as soon as mid-September. Reports have also been consistent that both current sizes, 10.5″ and 12.9″, will be upgraded.

Deals: ZeroLemon ToughJuice 30,000mAh 5-Port Power Bank

The more mobile technology we have, the more batteries we have to charge. The bigger and more advanced the device, the more power it demands, and the harder it can be to manage when we are out and about. As these demands grow, the need grows for portable batteries with more ports and higher capacities.

Leaks Showing a New Port on the Back of the iPad Pro are Starting to Add Up

Just shy of a month ago, I dismissed rumors that Apple would release an iPad Pro with Face ID locked to portrait orientation, as it currently is on the iPhone X. That same report from Japanese site Macotakara also said that, because of Face ID being locked to portrait, Apple would be moving the Smart Connector to a new location just above the Lightning Port. I was completely unconvinced, as none of this made any sense.

New Rumors of Apple’s Coming Event and iPhones Shipping Out From China

News of Apple’s coming event is starting to hit, as German site Macerkopf has potentially let the cat out of the bag. According to their report, sources with German cell carriers let them know that iPhone preorders will start on Friday, September 14th. This date certainly makes sense, as last year’s iPhone X preorders started on September 15th.

Fresh Details of New Apple Gear Coming This Fall

Leading things off is Bloomberg’s Marc Gurman, Mr Old Reliable when it comes to Apple info. He has fresh information on some of Apple’s new hardware coming this Fall. First off, he confirms that a new low-cost MacBook is coming, as has been expected for a while now. Despite plenty of previous rumors and reports, it’s nice to get confirmation from someone with a real track record.
