What’s unique about it is that it only features one app per day, and it’s always (or has been, in my case) a paid app featured for free or a greatly reduced price. Since there’s just one app to look at, it’s been tested and reviewed pretty thoroughly, so you know right away if it’s even something you’d want.

I’ve found a few real gems through this, and the category of the featured free app seems kind of random, and I actually get a little excited to see what they’ve found for that day, so it’s kind of fun that way, too.
