One of the best things about using an iPad is all the great apps that we can run on it. There are excellent apps for just about any purpose you can think of. Better still, there are lots of great free apps for the iPad. Our Best Free iPad App of the Week posts highlight these apps.

This week’s pick is Fotopedia Reporter, billed as not just a magazine but also a ‘social platform’ – and just a cool idea too. Here’s a bit of its App Store description:

Fotopedia Reporter is here! Our newest app unleashes your creativity, letting you create your own photo stories to share the things you love with whoever you want. Whether it’s a tour of your town, some hard-hitting reportage, a restaurant review or a story about snails mating at the bottom of your garden, the only limit is your imagination. If you care about something, let it show!

Fotopedia’s punchy fusions of text and image cover thousands of topics, from travel, culture and wildlife to art, food, fashion, architecture and more. With Reporter you can see them all … or make your own.

Fotopedia has published a number of stellar iPad apps and the one thing they all have in common is fantastic photography. Fotopedia Reporter continues that tradition.

Dreams of Tanzania

In this app there is stunning photography from all sorts of interesting places around the world – and featured in stories, which are like little mini magazines within the app. Each story has several pages worth of great images and companion text.
