Making Video

iPad apps are, and have always been, a big part of what makes the iPad such a powerful device. Great apps, and unique apps that you just don’t find anywhere else, are one of the hallmark features of the iPad. They have been since Day 1, and scores of great developers and publishers continue to produce apps that are exclusively for the iPad. Our weekly picks for Best iPad App of the Week are published here every Saturday.

This week’s pick is Animoto Video Maker, a great little app for turning your iPad and iOS photos into polished and pro looking videos in just a few minutes.

Animoto is easy to use so you can produce a short video to share with family and friends very quickly. I’ve used it often to send a video link to family members who couldn’t make it to an event within minutes of the event ending.

To make a new video in the app all you do is:

Choose some photos to include in the video

Arrange the order they’re shown in

Pick a video style (there are over 50 to choose from)

Pick a song to accompany the video – there are hundreds across various popular genres

Preview the video

Save when you’re happy with your creation

Choose Music

You can add titles, subtitles, and captions to individual photos.

Once you save your video you’ll get an email within just a couple minutes with a Share link. Follow that link and you can share your video via email, Facebook, Twitter, or a URL link.

Animoto is a free app and a universal app designed to run on both iPad and iPhone. You can buy an Animoto Plus subscription via In-App purchase – which gets you the ability to create videos longer than 30 seconds and access to more powerful video creation and sharing features. Subscriptions cost $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year.

Here’s an App Store link for Animoto Video Maker.
