Great apps make great platforms, and iOS and iPad are a great proof of that. One of the most captivating things about the iPad is the incredible range of great apps we are able to use and enjoy on Apple’s tablet. Each Saturday we share a favorite outstanding app as iPad App of the Week.

This week’s pick is Ask Me Anything – official reddit AMA app. This is of course reddit’s hugley popular and always interesting AMA interviews, brought to iOS. I should mention that this is actually an iPhone app that’s compatible with the iPad – not a full-blown iPad app yet. Having said that, for this type of app the iPhone version is more than good enough to use happily on an iPad.

Reddit Ask Me Anything, or AMA, are free-flowing interviews or Q&A sessions where community members ask their subject anything that springs to mind. They’re known for being some of the most open and interesting interviews around. And the Ask Me Anything app has packaged these nicely for iOS.

AMAs

The subjects of AMAs are nearly as widely varied as the questions that get posed – from Dublin bar owners to game developers to celebrities and all sorts of others. The questions are often as much or more fun than the answers.

This app is all about the AMAs – it doesn’t have or need any extra bells and whistles to accompany them. Here are its notable features:

• Keep up to date with all the latest AMA interviews
• Ask a question when someone is marked as ACTIVE
• Get notified when popular AMAs are trending
• See every answered question in an easy-to-read format perfect for mobile
• Vote questions and answers up and down to help prioritize the best content
• Explore diverse topics like Entertainment, Science and Politics

And here’s an App Store link for Ask Me Anything – official reddit AMA app; it’s a free app.

  1. mikelite – Yes it is. I’ve done this before, though pretty rarely. In some cases, like this one, I don’t think it makes a huge difference that we don’t have a full iPad version, given the nature of the app’s content.

    Others may well disagree.
