NFL Now iPad App

Great apps make great platforms, and iOS and iPad are a great proof of that. One of the most captivating things about the iPad is the incredible range of great apps we are able to use and enjoy on Apple’s tablet. Each Saturday we share a favorite outstanding app as iPad App of the Week.

This week’s pick is NFL Now, an official NFL app that offers a video stream of great current and historical NFL content – from current news and features to NFL Films material and video archives of the league’s greatest games and players.

Here’s a little slice of its App Store description:

NFL Now delivers a personalized video stream of your favorite NFL teams, players and coaches right to your iPad or iPhone. Get exclusive interviews and stories about your team, breaking news on your fantasy players, and unlimited access to your favorites in the NFL Films Archives.

FEATURES
-Hundreds of new videos daily
-Personalized stream for you, by you
-Deepest NFL video library anywhere
-Airplay from your iOS device to your Apple TV

Current News

The NFL Now main page is a grid of video collections to browse through, with a current story highlighted and playing live in the bottom right corner – you can pause and play that one or expand it full screen with one tap.

The video collections include Most Popular, Training Camp, Can’t Miss Play, Hard Knocks, NFL Films Presents, NFL’s Greatest Games, The Top 100 Greatest Players, and plenty more. Only a handful of the most current collections are available out of the box – the rest prompt that you need to subscribe for $1.99 per month.  I’d say that’s well worth it if you’re a big NFL fan and enjoy the history of the game and being able to watch some of those old classic games and the game’s greatest players.

The ability to personalize the content is delivered nicely as well. You can choose your favorite team/s and players, and also use an easy slider control to adjust how much you see of your favorites vs how much of All NFL, and whether to see more or less on Fantasy Football.

With the NFL season just getting into gear, this app is an easy pick for this week.

Here’s an App Store link for NFL Now; it’s a free app with an In-App purchase as mentioned above, and a universal app designed to run on both iPad and iPhone.
