I have been excited about getting my hands on an iPad since the first day Steve announced it. You might think it would be hard for guys like me to get any more excited about the iPad’s arrival – but apparently not.
My iPad accessories are starting to trickle in – and that is amping up my excitement level quite nicely. A few days back I received the Apple Bluetooth keyboard – which I tried out quickly and found very nice to type on, and of course very compact.
Today I got my Pogo Sketch stylus – which is also looking lovely and sleek and raring to go. I also ordered some of Apple’s iPad specific accessories, which of course are not due to ship for a few weeks yet.
Have you started receiving any iPad accessories yet? Is it April 3rd yet?
Case-mate make some great iPhone cases, including the case-mate ID combo case and wallet reviewed by Brandon at our sister site HERE. They also make the best cardboard case for the iPhone ever. :)
So I’m glad to see they’ve got a line of cases for the iPad coming. They currently list five iPad cases which offer a good range of choices already for those of us looking for a good case for our soon-to-arrive babies.
The folks at Zagg have sne tout an email blast to announce that their invisbleSHIELD for the iPad is now available to be pre-ordered.
invisibleSHIELD has a great reputation for being just about the toughest anti-scratch protection (they’re made from military grade material) you can get for a number of mobile devices (including the iPhone) while also adding almost no bulk or thickness to your device. I’m sure they’ll be a popular accessory for the iPad as well.
The Full Body covers for the iPad go for $34.99. Front Coverage is priced at $24.99. Zagg’s site say they will ship ‘shortly after the release’ of the iPad. For lots more detail and / or to place a pre-order, go HERE.
Vers iPad case is handcrafted from locally sourced and managed hardwoods like Eucalyptus, Pine wood, and also bamboo. These cases are each unique and stunningly beautiful and guaranteed to draw envious looks from their natural texture to their warm color. For every tree that is used in making these cases Vers has a partnership with Arbor Day Foundation to replant 100 trees where they are most needed (click the link to see how you can help too).
Striking looking (especially if you’re into wood cases for your mobile devices), and with some solid green principles behind it, this Vers Audio Bamboo iPad Case looks quite interesting.
… here comes the world’s first Diamond iPad from Goldstriker Amosu Mervis Diamond Importers, who we have earlier featured here for their world’s first diamond dreidel. This precious version will feature a diamond studded frame featuring 11.43 carats of diamonds, hand-set in a micro-pave styling. The diamonds are graded G/H in color and VS2/SI1 in clarity. This diamond-studded iPad adorns a $19,999 price tag and is available in limited quantities. You will have to wait a little longer to get your hands on this iPad version, i.e. after June 1, but you can place your order online to reserve one for you now, so get ready to splurge.
We’ve seen plenty of these ridiculous blinged-up versions of iPhones and other popular smartphones, so I guess it’s no surprise at all to see a first one for the iPad.
Two reasons I’d never cut it as a filthy rich person: I find the $20,000 price tag absurd no matter how much money you’ve got in the bank and I also find this model – and most of these sort of efforts – to be hideously ugly.

If you’ve ordered iPad accessories from Apple, you may well be finding some of them are not going to be getting to you as soon as you hoped. There are delays showing up for several of the Apple iPad accessories, including the iPad Keyboard Dock shown above – which is now not due to ship until May.
The iPad Case has slipped from a ship date of April 3rd to mid-April, and the iPad Camera Connection Kit isn’t even available for pre-order yet.
I ordered both the iPad Keyboard Dock and the iPad Case – so I’ll be missing those when I get the iPad itself. I did also order a BT keyboard for it though, and that has already shipped.
Have you ordered any of the delayed accessory items? Which iPad accessories are you looking forward to using?
I posted about a month ago on Waterfield’s first iPad case announcements, as their initial two looked quite good to me.
Now Waterfield have announced another couple cases for the iPad, and they’re also looking quite sharp – especially the Smart Case shown above.
I just got an email from RadTech’s PR folks – with some information on their accessories for the iPad. They’ve got quite a big range of items either already available or coming soon
Among the accessories offered are: shoulder bags, cases / sleeves, vehicle and assorted chargers, a touch screen stylus, various cables, and a screen protector. Keyboards and stands are about the only notable accessories I think they’re missing in their range at the moment.
RadTech’s prices seem sort of medium range, not super cheap and not too premium either. The two shoulder bags, for example, are priced at $44.95 and $49.95. For a good, broad range of iPad accessories at reasonable looking prices, check out RadTech’s iPad page here:
Just in case you haven’t already seen this round the web. I guess we were always going to see something like this, given the name and all. It is …
“Hip Handmaids’ exclusive iMaxi—the only Apple iPad case made with protective wings!”

There have been rumors floating round for a while now about Mac OS X style Dashboard widgets for the iPad – as many have speculated that the built-in apps that are missing from the iPad home screen (Weather, Stocks, Calculator, Clock, Voice Memos) could be implemented nicely as widgets.
This week those rumors have gained a little steam with the observation – by a clever poster called macduke at the MacRumors site – that the iPad keyboard has a blank key smack dab in the middle of the top row of function keys. So the guess is that this key could easily be a Dashboard key when the iPad and its keyboard are released next month.
I’d quite like to see Dashboard on the iPad – it’s a great utility on a MacBook, and I’m sure it can be a great one on the iPad as well. What do you all think? Would you like to see Dashboard widgets for the iPad?
M-Edge – who I’ve never come across before today and who specialize in eReader accessories – have got a good, broad range of iPad accessories coming soon.
Their range includes sleeves, jackets, cases, bags, and stands for the iPad – over a dozen items in all.
