Dr. Seuss Beginner Book Collections for iPad

Dr. Seuss has been on the loose on the iPad just about ever since the original iPad launched, courtesy of the excellent publishers at Oceanhouse Media. Over the last couple of months they’ve released a pair of apps that offer collections of five Seuss titles for young readers –Dr. Seuss Beginner Book Collection #1 and Dr. Seuss Beginner Book Collection #2.

Each contains five Seuss titles all in one omBook (Oceanhouse’s term for their interactive iOS titles). The Dr. Seuss Beginner Book Collection #1 contains The Cat in the Hat, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, The FOOT Book, Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?, and Fox In Socks.

The latest release, Collection #2, includes the classic Green Eggs and Ham, Dr. Seuss’s ABC, The Cat in the Hat Comes Back, There’s a Wocket in My Pocket, and Hop on Pop.

Dr Seuss Collection 2 for iPad

My family and I have been enjoying the individual Dr. Seuss eBooks for iPad from Oceanhouse ever since they first hit the iPad App Store. Oceanhouse renders these classics very faithfully, with original artwork used, excellent professional narration, and fun new  interactive elements. Of course these were mentioned in our list of the Best iPad Apps of 2011 (and the 2010 list).

I always enjoyed these books when I was a kid and it makes me happy to see that my daughter has enjoyed them in print when she was younger and continues to through these iPad versions.

These two new collections are priced nicely as well, at $11.99 each. If you’ve got young readers and iPads in your household, it’s well worth taking a look at these new collections.

Here are App Store links for Dr. Seuss Beginner Book Collection #1 and Dr. Seuss Beginner Book Collection # 2.
