Just in case you haven’t already seen this on 37 other sites this weekend, Kevin Rose has made some (cough cough) ‘predictions’ about the iPad 2:

I have it on good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next “3-4 weeks”, possibly Tuesday February 1st. The iPad 2 will feature a retina display and front/back cameras. …

UPDATE: Spoke w/another source, the display has a “higher dpi”, but not technically a retina display.

So … to recap – Apple will announce the iPad 2 at right around the time they announced V1 last year, just as pretty much everyone has expected all along, and the next gen iPad will have an improved display. Stop the press – huge news eh?

In the spirit of Rose’s bold iPad 2 predictions, I’m going to make a football related one:

The Super Bowl will be played some time in the next 3-4 weeks, and two very good teams will be playing in it.

  1. There’s no way they will announce V2 this early like they did v1, as it would kill v1 sales stone dead. It’ll be out in April, and announced a week or so beforehand.
