It looks like Walmart will soon become the latest big US retail chain to start carrying the iPad. MacRumors has had emails and photos sent to them that suggest Walmart will begin rolling out the iPad to 1,000 stores as soon as next week, with more stores getting the device in November.

According to the report, initial stock at each Walmart outlet will be just 5 units of each iPad model and 10 units each of Apple’s own iPad accessories.

I’m not a frequent Walmart shopper, and an Apple store will always be my first choice when shopping for iDevices, but it can’t hurt to have a few thousand more outlets for the iPad – especially in areas where there aren’t any Apple stores.
