Breaking Bad iBook

Breaking Bad: Alchemy is a brand new iBook devoted to the fantastic AMC TV series, Breaking Bad – which has just entered its short run of final episodes this week.

Here’s a little of the iBookstore intro for Breaking Bad: Alchemy:

The Breaking Bad: Alchemy multi-touch book is an ownable piece of history that provides an evocative fan experience and celebrates the true legacy of the Breaking Bad series. …
Breaking Bad: Alchemy highlights the unique visual, aural, narrative and filmic elements that make Breaking Bad one of the most magnetic series in television history.

I’m a huge fan of Breaking Bad and have been watching it ever since Season 1. So I grabbed this iBook as soon as I heard it was available – and I’m happy to say it has not disappointed. It’s quite a nice little companion book for Breaking Bad fans.

They say a great book draws you in right from the first sentence. Well, this iBook opens with the opening splash screen for the TV series and then goes straight into a short intro video from the series creator himself, Vince Gilligan – who has this to say about the iBook:

This is a look into the world of Breaking Bad that’s in-depth, immersive, and totally new. I think you’re gonna love it.

The photos in the book are great and feature many of the most fascinating characters from throughout the series.

Saul

Tuco

I love this description of the Saul Goodman character:

Saul’s cunning for evading the law is nearly boundless, making him time and again Walt and Jessie’s knight in shining polyester

The book is full of good background and back story information – everything from themes and inspiration for the series to behind-the-scenes secrets and interviews with Gilligan. There are also lots of nice interactive elements, episode title breakdowns, and event timelines.

If you’re a fan of Breaking Bad this is one iBook you’re going to want to check out on your iPad.
