In the latest iOS 7 beta you can choose which apps are allowed to use cellular data. This is another nice new feature that I don’t recall seeing mentioned anywhere.
In iOS 7 beta 3 you can toggle the ability to use cellular data on and off with a single tap in the Settings > Cellular Data section for WiFi + Cellular devices.
If this feature stays in iOS 7 when it’s released to the public, this will make it easy to control which apps can run on a cellular data connection and potentially save a bit of bandwidth on our data plans.
Thanks to one of our readers, William, for giving us the heads-up on this one. He spotted it on his iPhone and I’ve just tested it out on my iPad 3.
