iOS 5 beta 4 has been out for a while now via the iOS Developer Program – but through a series of mishaps and missteps on my part it has taken me longer than usual to get a chance to try it out. Last night I updated to beta 3 (I was behind a whole generation on the betas) and then had the pleasure of updating from beta 3 to beta 4 via the newly-enabled OTA update process.
I don’t have any new revelations on the OTA software update experience. I’ll just say that it is just as good as you would hope for and expect. It was fast and effortless and a damn sight nicer than having to be connected to a PC.
I’ve also found that on the V1 iPad beta 4 is far, far more stable than previous betas (though I missed out on beta 3). All of the apps I’ve got installed on it are running solidly.
