The latest firmware update for iOS – iOS 4.3.3 – is now available via iTunes, having been released earlier today by Apple.
This update provides fixes for issues with the now-infamous location database on iPad and other iOS devices. Here are the specific changes it brings:
The update contains changes to the iOS crowd-sourced location database including:
– Reduces the size of the cache
– No longer backs the cache up to iTunes
– Deletes the cache entirely when Location Services is turned off.
I applied the update earlier today and so far I don’t see any hidden new features or issues – but it’s only been a couple of hours.
