That’s the Padova leather case for the iPad 2 shown above. It’s a very stylish looking, full-protection case for the iPad 2, with Apple’s cool new smart cover tech built into it as well.
We were just talking last night on our weekly live talkcast show, The Magical Revolutionary iPad Show, about how we’d love to see some 3rd party case that include the new smart cover features – and sure enough this morning I’ve spotted two of them.
There’s the Padova, from Orbino, and also a wooden smart cover from Miniot – this one, called the Miniot iPad 2 Wooden Smart Cover:
The Miniot wooden smart cover goes for $69 and comes in a range of woods including walnut, smoked oak, padouk, mahogany, and cherry. You can see more details and sign up to be notified when it’s available here: https://www.miniot.com/webshop/#
The Padova case looks very good to me, partly because of the Italian leather, and also because it offers full protection for the iPad 2 rather than just a slim front cover. It is quite pricy though, at $209. It comes in a variety of colors, and also in some other ‘exotic’ skins if you don’t want leather. For more information and pre-order details on this one go here: http://www.orbino.com/store/index.php?cPath=193
I’m looking forward to seeing more 3rd party cases with smart cover integration.
