I’ve talked recently about how much I’ve grown to love the Apple iPad 2 Smart Cover. The more I’ve used it, the more it has become a real favorite for me. I enjoy it so much that I’ve recently started looking for cases that work well with it but offer a little more protection or the back of the iPad 2. Up until yesterday, whenever I used the smart cover, the only protection for the back of the iPad 2 is a screen protector.
Then I received the SwitchEasy CoverBuddy for iPad 2 in the mail yesterday – and it is now working nicely in tandem with the smart cover on my iPad 2. I’m only just getting to know the CoverBuddy but I’ve got a few quick first impression thoughts on it to share, along with a couple more pics of it in action.
Right out of the box, the CoverBuddy looks quite smart. It’s a very deep black that doesn’t match my navy blue smart cover, but goes nicely with it. It looks close enough that it feels like the two were meant to go together.
The tough, shock-proof material of the CoverBuddy feels solid in the hand and not slippery at all.
Getting the iPad 2 into the CoverBuddy is very easy. It fits snugly into the case with minimal effort. Once the CoverBuddy is on, it leaves just the right amount of space on the left-hand side for the smart cover to attach to the iPad 2. The smart cover snaps on and off just as easily as ever with the CoverBuddy on.
The CoverBuddy doesn’t add too much to the sleek profile of the iPad 2 and definitely offers some solid back protection.
So far, it seems like quite a good companion for the iPad 2 and the smart cover. I’ll do a better review when I’ve spent more time with the CoverBuddy.
In the meantime, you can get more details on it at the SwitchEasy page for the CoverBuddy. It’s priced at $25.
