PadPivot

The PadPivot is a (mega-successful) project on Kickstarter – the home of community-funded creative design projects. I’ve only become aware of Kickstarter fairly recently and have only looked at a handful of iPad-related projects. Even so, I think it’s safe to say this is both a very promising iPad / tablet accessory and a stunning success as a Kickstarter project.

It’s currently at nearly ten times its funding goal – standing at over $98,000 on an inPadPivotTotalsitial $10,000 goal. Here’s part of the intro to this ultra-versatile, neat little stand:

Pad Pivot™ is the ultimate tablet stand for iPad, Galaxy Tab, Kindle, or other tablet device. It features hands-free positioning on your lap and adjustable angles and positioning on the desktop. The ingenious hinged design allows Pad Pivot to fold small enough to fit in your pocket, purse, or bag making it the most versatile and unique stand in the marketplace.

Each PadPivot™ comes with:
• Microfiber Carrying Bag
• Tether Strap for “Extreme Gaming”
• Grip Plate Protector

Another notable and cool thing about this project is that the two designers behind have never even met in person. They have collaborated entirely on the internet thus far. For more details and to fully appreciate this cool stand idea check out the PadPivot video demo.
