Powerbeats Pro Arrive!

I would say MY Powerbeats Pro arrived, but they aren’t actually mine. I am taking a look at them so I can write a little about them, but they will belong to my wife very soon. Wednesday was her birthday, so these are her Combo bday/Mother’s Day gift. She was kind enough to let me test drive before she takes them so I won’t get in the way of her listening pleasure once I hand them over.

One of the big reasons I got these for her is because, like many Apple users, their EarPods and AirPods just don’t fit her ears. She had tried several times, including recently, but to no avail. As such, she has always declined when I have asked if she would be interested in trying out the AirPods. She loves wireless buds and headphones, but they just aren’t a good fit, pun intended.

Despite this roadblock to Apple’s hot-selling wireless buds, my wife has tried out all kinds of other products, but only to mixed success. The few that’s she’s liked haven’t really lasted long and many just weren’t all that great. The Powerbeats Pro will be a huge step up in weight class and I’m confident that she will be thrilled with them.

As for my take, I have only had them in long enough to listen to a couple of songs tonight, but I like what I hear so far. The bass is a lot more present, which I like. If you find the bass on the AirPods anemic, give these a look. They might just win you over.

So far, the Powerbeats Pro seem very comfortable. While I’ve only worn them for a short time, they are light, soft and flexible. They are also easy to put on and take off. Not all buds that have ear loops can make that claim, so this is also a positive.

The lone complaint I have so far is that the charging case is really big. Compared to an AirPods case it feels gigantic. It definitely wouldn’t be pocketable for me, but it will probably work for my wife since she often carries at least a small purse.

That’s it for tonight, but I’m sure I’ll have plenty more to say about the Powerbeats Pro in the coming days, including giving my wife’s perspective after I hand them over.
