Madonna has released a new iPad app this week, to go along with her new album and tour. The app is simply called Madonna and has a short, sweet (for Madonna fans) App Store description as well:
The official Madonna app. Now everything you want to know about Madonna is available on your mobile device.
The app has sections covering Career (albums, tours), Fan Wall, 2012 Tour (dates, and fan comments area), Photos, Videos, News and more.
The Photos and Videos sections both offer content ranging from her early days right through to her latest efforts. It’s fun seeing some of the older stuff.
The app, like the lady herself, is far from bland or ordinary. From the splash screen and through all its pages the backgrounds and imagery are very striking.
Of course the app has got links to buy her music in iTunes as well, and connections to social networks so you can get all social with its content.
One very annoying feature of the app is that it starts playing music on opening without you doing anything, like some detestable websites do. I found I had to go out to the multitasking bar to stop the background track from playing on more than one occasion.
I wouldn’t say I’m a huge Madonna fan by any means, but I do like and own some of her songs and especially liked her Music album. I also think she’s just an impressive person – very quick and bright and always great to watch in interviews.
If you’re a Madonna fan and an iPad owner you’re going to want this app. It’s got a good amount of content and is packaged stylishly.
Here’s an App Store link for Madonna; it’s a free app and a universal app designed to run on both iPad and iPhone.
