Alltop for iPad

Alltop, the excellent curated ‘best of the web’ site co-founded by Guy Kawasaki, has launched an iPad app. It’s called Alltop for iPad and it’s in the iPad App Store now.

Here’s a little of its App Store description:

Alltop for iPad creates an online magazine rack for you. Now you don’t have to find, bookmark, and visit your favorite blogs and websites because we’ve curated over 1,000 topics ranging from A (Adoption) to Z (Zoology) with News, Social Media, Sports, Politics, Photography, Macintosh, and Science in between.

Alltop provides the headlines and first paragraph of the five most recent stories from over 35,000 RSS feeds, updated every hour. It keeps track of your favorite topics, topics that you most recently visited, and your customized collection of topics too.

I love the simplicity of the Alltop UI, in a browser and in this new iPad app. It’s a very well curated set of sources and most interesting news – and it’s fast and easy to get around. if you’ve got an Alltop username you can set and view your favorite topics – so for instance you can favorite the iPad topic in the Technology section and you’ll find iPad Insight among the sites featured, along with a number of other good sources.

Here’s an App Store link for Alltop for iPad; it’s a free app.
