Band of The Day for iPad has been updated this week, to Version 2.3.

The big new feature in this update is the ability to send ‘full play’ songs to friends. So you can now send songs that you listen to and like in the Band of The Day app to your friends via Facebook, email, or SMS.

The songs you send are actually 30 second preview clips initially, which can be extended to full play songs if you click a link and like the Band of The Day Facebook page. Once you do do that you get a full length song preview. This also seems to ‘stick’ properly – so if another song is sent to you via Band of The Day on the same device you get the full play song straight away.

I know some people are not fond of the need to Like a Facebook page for things like this. I don’t generally either – but in this case I’m Ok with it because I’m a big fan of the Band of The Day app. It was my pick for Best Free iPad App of the Week back in January.
