CBS is a new free iPad app from the TV network of the same name, which offers full episodes streaming of many of the network’s most popular shows. These include Criminal Minds, NCIS, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, How I Met Your Mother, Survivor, Elementary, and more.
But .. full episodes of The Big Bang Theory are not available – instead there are just a series of 1 to 2 minute clips available for what many of us would say is easily the best show on CBS. This seems an odd decision, to put it mildly. Yet another example of TV networks just not ‘getting it’ when it comes to access to their content I guess.
Here’s a bit of the App Store intro for the new CBS app:
Watch full episodes of your favorite CBS shows with the CBS app for iPad and iPhone! Enjoy primetime, daytime and late night episodes from America’s Most Watched Network.
Catch NCIS, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, How I Met Your Mother, Survivor, Elementary, The Young And The Restless, The Late Show with David Letterman and many more. Use the ‘My CBS’ feature to be notified when episodes of your favorite shows have been added to the app.
With Live Social Feeds, you can join the conversation about CBS programs and read live feeds curated for each show. Use the Primetime Schedule to learn what’s coming up on CBS and set reminders for single episodes or special events – never miss a moment!
CBS app includes these features:
* Full Episode Streaming in HD
* Personalized Show List
* Live Social Feeds
* Photo Galleries and Cast Pages
* Primetime Schedule
Interesting that there’s no mention of Big Bang Theory – though there is still a strong lineup of shows where full episodes are offered.
The app also has no support for AirPlay – and that’s a big miss as well.
