The CNN and TED apps for iPad have both been updated this week; CNN to Version 1.0.2 and TED to Version 1.3.

Both apps’ updates appear to be exclusively to add support for AirPlay – which allows audio and video content to be streamed from the iPad to an Apple TV. I am hoping and assuming that both apps have added support for AirPlay video, not just audio. CNN I’m not so fussed about because of course there’s plenty of that on TV anyway; but the TED talks would be great to see up on a big HD screen.

Normally I would have tested this to confirm – but my Apple TV has conveniently died this morning – Apple Support confirms I need to take it into a store to get it exchanged. So hopefully I’ll get a chance to test these out in day or two, once I’ve had a chance to get a replacement unit.

Have any of you tried these apps after applying the latest updates? Is AirPlay video working?
