TouchLCD for iPad

I’ve never been a fan of clock apps for the iPhone or iPad.  This one – TouchLCD – Designer Speaking Clock – caught my eye though as I was checking out what’s new on the iPad App Store last night.

It grabbed my attention because it just looks so damn good, so I grabbed it – and I really like the app.

It looks gorgeous, speaks the time, lets you set alarms, and has a good range of settings to customize it with (including a nice set of appearance-related tweaks).

Here’s more detail from its App Store page:

A beautiful LCD themed clock designed specifically for iPad and iPhone, packed with features to ensure you never need another clock app. This is the clock app we always wanted. We think you will too.

We have lovingly crafted every screen in Touch LCD to provide a seamless LCD experience throughout the app.

● Spoken time, chime and alarms
● Full HD iPad support
● 3 configurable interactive panels
● Comprehensive alarm and snooze features
● Beautiful LCD theme with 5 color schemes

● Snooze an alarm with the proximity sensor

It’s a universal app, so it will run on the iPhone and iPod Touch as well.  If you need a good clock app, or like me have never wanted one but enjoy very elegant and well-designed apps, then you’ll want to give TouchLCD a look.

You can find TouchLCD in the App Store now, priced at $1.99.

  1. I was all over this – it's gorgeous. What sold me though was that I needed a timer for cookery in the kitchen.

I like the countdown to the next alarm as well…another way of telling you to get to sleep.
