Desktop for iPad has had a major update, to Version 1.1. It has added a few new widgets as well as improvements to existing ones.
Desktop provides an ability to multitask within the app – letting you run two widgets at a time, choosing from a good and already expanding number of useful widgets to work with. I did a review of the app recently – you can check that out HERE.
Here are the details on additions and improvements to this new version of Desktop:
– Voice Recorder
– World Clock
– Help & Support
NEW FEATURES (EXISTING TOOLS):
– Device Stats: Added Compass and Battery information.
– Email Composer now offers the ability to attach photos.
– Web Browser now supports HTTP Authentication.
IMPROVEMENTS (EXISTING TOOLS):
– Browser: Increased the size of the browser’s bookmarks popover.
– Dictionary: Improved font and formatting.
I updated the app last night and played around a little with the new widgets as well as the upgraded ones. I like the additional info now included on the Device Stats tool …
The new Notepad tool works well, and even includes a good number of fonts to choose from …
The new World Clock looks good as well – providing a long list of world cities and allowing you to search and display just one …
The App Store page for Desktop also states there is more coming soon in Version 1.2:
✓ Feeds (RSS, Facebook, Twitter, Weather)
✓ Improvements to existing tools
It’s always nice to see good apps getting continually improved. Props to the Desktop devs for their efforts.
You can find the latest version of Desktop in the App Store now, priced at $0.99.
