The Google Drive app for iPad and iPhone has been updated today, to Version 1.3.0. The change list for this update is short but potentially quite sweet for heavy users of the service – as it promises faster loading and quicker editing.
Here’s the full change list for this new version:
★ Landscape editing of documents & spreadsheets for iPhone
★ Google Docs now loads faster with quicker editing support
✓ Minor bug fixes
I installed the update a bit earlier this morning, and the app does seem a fair bit speedier to me on both loading up files and folders and document edits. Good stuff.
I’m sure we have more Google Drive users here. Have you tried this update yet? If so, are you also seeing speed improvements?

I agree the app seems to open files quicker. I like the fact that the files open in the edit mode now, versus the view mode. I hope Google continues to work on the iPad app so that comments show up like they do when I use the computer. I hardly ever use the computer anymore and love using Google Docs with students.
Thanks for posting cool and helpful information!
