Real Racing 2 HD for iPad

Easter weekend is coming up – and of course that means something just a little different to when I was a kid. It means insane quantities of chocolate being bought and consumed, egg hunts, gift baskets (apparently the Easter Bunny is now Mini Santa Claus) – and of course it means lots of good holiday weekend sales on iPad (and iOS) apps.

iPad app sales have already started appearing – and some top-tier games are available at big discounts. Here’s a handful of top EA titles I’ve noticed today:

Real Racing 2 HD: More than 50% off this weekend – down from $6.99 to $2.99

Flight Control HD: 80% off – down from $4.99 to $0.99

Command and Conquer Red Alert for iPad: $4.99 down to $0.99

Spy Mouse HD for iPad: $2.99 down to $0.99

Monopoly for iPad: $6.99 down to $1.99

And a great baseball game from Com2uS:

Homerun Battle 3D for iPad: Free for today only to mark baseball’s Opening Days this week (usually $4.99).

That’s a fine start if you’re looking for some great games at great prices for your iPad. Real Racing 2 HD is the gold standard for iPad racing games, and works nicely with AirPlay Mirroring to an Apple TV / HDTV.

I’m sure there will be plenty more great sales from EA and other this weekend – and I’ll try to add some updates here as I spot others. Please feel free to share any you have noticed in the comments.

Update 4/6 – More as the Weekend Progresses:

— EA has tons of their game titles on sale. A few more noteworthy ones mentioned below.

Dead Space for iPad (Apple’s choice as iPad Game of the Year for 2011): $9.99 down to $2.99

Risk Official Game for iPad: Down $6.99 to $2.99

Reckless Racing HD: $4.99 down to 99 cents

NBA Jam for iPad: $4.99 down to $2.99

And a few attractive non-EA titles:

PhotoForge2 (very good photo editing app) for iPad: $2.99 down to 99 cents

Pocket Informant HD (Contacts, Calendars, Tasks powerhouse app): $14.99 down to $8.99

Flick Golf Extreme HD: One of my favorite ever iPad game – $2.99 down to 99 cents.
