Kindle App Updated, Makes Changes Based on User Complaints on Landscape Mode

The Kindle app for iPad (and iPhone / Touch) has been updated again, to Version 2.3.1. The main change in this update addresses user complaints about a change made to landscape view on the iPad in the previous update to the app.

In that previous update, landscape mode was changed so that books always display in two columns. Commenters here and reviewers in the App Store complained vehemently about this change and most seemed to prefer to see this as an option.

And that’s exactly what this latest update brings – you can now choose between one and two-column view in landscape on the iPad. Well done by the Kindle devs to A) listen to their users and B) respond quickly to a reasonable feature wish list request.
