Penultimate for iPad Updated – Adds Custom Papers

Penultimate – the popular handwriting app for the iPad – was updated yesterday, to Version 3.0.  The most notable addition in this update is custom papers. You can create your own from any image and import them or purchase small sets from The Paper Shop, which offers them as In-App purchases.

The Paper Shop offers sets priced from $0.99 to $4.99, and the sets include Writing, Time & Tasks, Design Collection, Music, and Young Writers.

I’ve haven’t got good enough at handwriting on the iPad to take advantage of new types of paper – for instance, the Writing set offers lined sheets that I could never stay within. But for those who are adept at writing in Penultimate, this may be quite a handy and fun new feature.

Here’s an App Store link for Penultimate; it’s priced at $1.99.
