Scanner Pro for iPad

Scanner Pro, a popular and high-ranking business app on the iPhone for years, has now got an iPad version. The app was updated today and is now a universal app for both iPad and iPhone.

It’s been completely redesigned for the iPad and boasts a wealth of strong features. For starters, it can scan documents, business cards, receipts, whiteboards and even multipage documents. It also has links to Dropbox, Google Docs, and Evernote for file storage – a very nice thing to see.

Here’s more detail on some of its notable capabilities:

★ Scan documents
Scanner Pro handles any type of documents ranging from a receipt to multipage agreements. You can add, move, delete and even combine pages in landscape and portrait modes
★ Process image smartly
Automatic edge detection and advanced image processing help you to get great scans blazingly fast. You can adjust the crop area manually by tapping on the screen
★ Set custom page size
Custom page size is supported to fit physical size of the original document. It is very handy for scanning receipts
★ Make Industry standard PDF files
All scanned document are produced as industry-standard PDF files
★ Protect documents with password
Scanner Pro allows you to set a password for PDF files you have created. Only people who know the password will be able to open the documents
★ Transfer documents to Mac and PC
Mount Scanner Pro as a shared network drive over the Wi-Fi network to any computer and copy the scanned PDF files from your iOS device. No additional software is required
★ Preview documents before sending
A built-in PDF viewer allows to preview your scans exactly in a way they will look on a desktop computer

I’ve been giving the app a quick try this afternoon with business cards and a couple random documents – I haven’t mastered getting the best out of it yet but it works well. I can’t say I often have a need for a scanning app on the iPad but (spoken like The Most Interesting Man in the World) I think I’m going to prefer find Scanner Pro very useful.

Here’s an App Store link for Scanner Pro; it’s priced at $6.99.

  1. Just bought ScannerPro for my new IPad and am having trouble figuring out how to use it. It doesn’t seem very intuitive. Where can i get instructions? What i have seen on the Scannerpro sites doesn’t match what i am seeing on my Ipad scfreen and i don’t seem to be able to navigate around the app very well. My Ipad is my first Apple product .

  2. I agree Linda

I haven’t got the first idea how to use this app. Waste of money for me.
