Smash Your Food HD is a fun iPad app that helps you educate yourself, and more so your kids, on what’s in some ‘commonly abused’ foods. It has been chosen as a winner in Michelle Obama’s "Apps for Healthy Kids" national competition, and it gives a breakdown of how much sugar, salt, and oil are contained in some (unhealthy) foods that are popular with kids and adults alike.
It has great video footage of foods being crushed and smushed and gushing out oil and innards that had my daughter cracking up. It’s a nice, lighthearted way to reinforce the healthy food message with kids.
Here’s an App Store link for Smash Your Food HD; it’s priced at $2.99.
