Rdio – the popular social music service – now has an iPad app. They’ve had an iPhone app for a long while and last week the app was updated to a universal app with full iPad support.
Rdio is a Spotfiy rival that offers unlimited on-demand music with a strong set of social features thrown in. It’s a subscription service, available through In-App purchase at $14.99 per month.
Here’s a little more about it, via its App Store page:
Follow your friends and other people with great taste in music, and find new and old favorites. Play any of our more than 10 million songs as much as you like, make your own playlists, and collaborate with friends on theirs. Search and find any song, album or artist, and start listening immediately.
Sync songs, albums and playlists to your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch and listen even when you’re offline.
– Access 10+ million songs
– Tons of new albums added every week
– Carry your collection in your pocket
– Sync and play music when you’re offline
– Build unlimited playlists
– Search the entire Rdio catalog.
I tried out a music subscription service with Zune a few years back (I know – sacrilege for a Mac / iOS guy right?) and I’ve found I prefer owning music, even with some DRM restrictions.
Are any of you Rdio users? If so, what do you think of the new iPad app?
