River of News has been my favorite RSS app for the iPad for a long time, and it’s an app we included in our list of the Best iPad Apps of 2011.

So I was happy to see a teaser post at the developer’s blog saying that a Version 1.5 update is ‘just about ready to be submitted to the App Store’. The update will bring support for the new iPad’s retina display. There’s even a teaser shot of the new retina graphics, shown above.

You can also see the much nicer feed icons. With this version you’ll get icons for more of your feeds and they’ll be higher resolution and support transparency.

Even though I’ve recently been using Reeder for iPad I’m very much looking forward to seeing the River of News retina update.  Hopefully we’ll see it hit the iPad App Store soon.
