Robots for iPad, the excellent iPad app and guide to the world of robotics, has been updated this week – to Version 1.5.
The change list for this latest update is short and sweet – new robots! 7 of them to be specific, and a pretty impressive bunch they are too. One of the new robots is Anki Drive, the racing game with small robotic cars controlled by an iPhone that was shown off in one of Apple’s recent media events. Care-O-bot 3 is a robotic butler, designed to fetch objects, give appointment reminders, and provide help in emergency situations.
Here’s one of the new group who’s a tad imposing to look at – the Atlas robot – who will serve as a rescue robot:
I did a review of Robots for iPad last year. I was very impressed with the app and had this to say about it:
Robots for iPad is one of the best, and most entertaining, iPad apps you’ll find. If you have even the slightest bit of interest in robots and how they’re impacting our lives, then this app is a must-see. It doesn’t bury you in technical terminology and makes learning about all these great robots easy and fun.
Here’s an App Store link for Robots for iPad; it’s a free app.
