The BeatBlaster for iPad has been updated this week, to Version 1.2. Here’’s the change list for the new version:

* Features :
– Landscape mode : enjoy The BeatBlaster in landscape
– Pull to refresh on the album view : change from a list view to the cd cover view
– Totally revamped Fullscreen view : see the lyrics and info in fullscreen
– Lyrics now auto scroll with the song progress
– French support
* Improvements
– Updated “sharper” app icon
– Updated Speaker graphics
– Updated Turntable graphics
– Updated font
– The Turntable now stops with ease
– Local lyrics management : if the lyrics are embedded in the iTunes song, we show it first
– Added an indicator for the lists in the iPod library view
– New way to search for a song/album/artist/playlist in iPod library view
– Custom loading view

This looks like mostly a good update, with quite a few nice little enhancements – but the new landscape mode is a big disappointment to me. It doesn’t affect the main player screen, it only seems to work in the Now Playing screen for me. I find it really goofy that most of the app still does portrait only and the app doesn’t rotate when the iPad is rotated. Although I understand landscape mode might not be ideal for the sort of stereo stack design, I’m really not sure how you describe this as ‘landscape support’ without putting the word ‘minimal’ in front of it.

Anyway, this is still quite a fun iPad app. I did a review of BeatBlaster for iPad back in February – check it out for lots more details on the app.
