The New York Post newspaper has launched an iPad edition today. Although this tabloid is not a favorite of mine, it does appear to have some nice iPad-specific features. Here’s a slice of its App Store description:
In each day’s edition, you will find all the key sections of the newspaper – News, Page Six, Opinion, Pulse, Business and Sports. You’ll also experience a bevy of special features such as the ability to make your own front page and share it with The Post or your friends; viewing photo galleries and videos while you read the paper; sharing stories via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter; saving any newspaper issue you want to keep; and for sports fans, you can set the app so you start reading from the Sports section every day.
I like that it includes some good sharing and personalizing options, especially the option to start your reading at the (all-important) Sports section. You can find The New York Post in the App Store now. It is a $1.99 app, which includes to an introductory 30 days of issues. Subscription options via in-app purchase are one month at $6.99 and one year at $74.99 – a steep raise on the $26 for their electronic edition.
If you’re New York Post fan and you’ve had a chance to try the app, please share your thoughts on it in the comments.
