iShare+ for Google+the unofficial Google+ iPad app – has been updated today, to Version 1.2.

This app was already a very nice way to work with Google+ on the iPad, especially as it has somehow slipped Google’s mind to release a Google+ iPad app nearly a year after launching their iPhone app.

Today’s update to iShare+ for Google+ is a pretty major one that adds a bunch of nice new features along with some enhancements and bug fixes.

I’ve been testing several of the new features and so far all of them work well. The bookmarklet for sharing web links works as advertised – as do the ability to edit your comments and to re-share posts in the stream from within the app.

Here’s the full change list for this update:

+ Share a webpage directly from safari or the built in browser. See the instructions in the settings panel to set this up.
+ Edit your posts and comments.
+ Create new albums or upload photos to existing ones.
+ You no longer need to select a circle to share to if you have tagged people in your post. The post will only be visible to you and those tagged. Also, people tagged appear in the list at the bottom of the compose window.
+ Other people who have commented and people from your circles now appear first in the mention prompt.
+ +1 or share a post directly from the stream.
+ The “Incoming” stream is now supported. View posts from people who have added you to their circles but who you have not added back.
+ Line breaks in comments. The comment field now expands as you type and the return button on the keyboard now adds a new line to your comment rather than posting it.
+ Rich sharing of Youtube videos. Simply share the Youtube URL as you would any other webpage and the video and description will be embedded in your post
+ Delete others’ comments on your posts and photos.
+ Improved notification summaries, clicking the notification alert now opens the notifications window and new notifications now have a darker background.
+ Spell check when composing a post.
+ The compose post view remains in the foreground until the post has been successfully submitted, allowing you to retry if it fails. Also, the window becomes scrollable when the keyboard is visible to allow you to view and modify all fields without hiding it.
+ You can now scroll through multiple images attached to a post in the full screen viewer.
+ The reload button on a person’s profile now reloads the user’s photos and information as well as posts. Also, the reload button now scrolls to the top of the list of posts.
+ Pinch to close and double tap to zoom in the full screen image viewer.
+ Hashtags, hyperlinks and email addresses are now clickable from comments.
+ Fix for clicking a link to an album sometimes not switching to the user’s albums page.
+ Fix for marking notifications as read and uploading images when logged in as a page.
+ Fix for a crash when trying to share a URL for which there is no description.
+ Fix for the button to view who +1’d a comment sometimes not working.
+ Other bug fixes and performance improvements.

As mentioned above, this was already quite a nice option for using Google+ on the iPad. It’s very good to see it getting a substantial update so soon after its initial release.

Here’s an App Store link for iShare+ for Google+; it’s priced at $1.99.
