Vital Signs Camera – the amazing iPad 2 app from Phillips that measure your heart rate and breathing rate using only the iPad 2′s camera – has been updated this week, to Version 2.0.0.

The biggest additions in this update are:

– The app can now measure the heart rate of two people at the same time.

– It’s now a universal app, available for both the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S.

– It now has extensive history, including tables and graphs to let you look at trends and statistics.

If you’ve never tried out the Vital Signs Camera app you really need to take a few minutes and give it a go. Apart from being an incredibly innovative app, it’s a definite ‘wow factor’ app to show your friends and family. The way it works is it measures heart rate by changes in the color of your face, and measures breathing rate by analyzing the motion of your chest. And does it all with just the iPad 2′s camera – you don’t need any additional add-ons to use it.

Here’s an App Store link for Vital Signs Camera; it’s priced at $0.99.
