Macrumors is reporting this morning that everyones favorite (and free) media player VLC may be making it’s App Store debut just as soon as the team at Cupertino gives it the green light. Despite how shaky the app approval process can be, especially for third party media players, the developers seem confident.

“Sure, there is a risk Apple will deny entry to the software, which VLC hopes to make available for free. If everything goes well, VLC for the iPad should be available next week”
The iPad app, just like their popular desktop application, will also be made available for free on the app store.

Even though I already have CineXPlayer and OPlayer HD, one more app, especially VLC can't hurt.
