The Zite app for iPad and iPhone was updated yesterday, to Version 2.2. Zite is one of the best news aggregator apps for iPad and this is another in a string of impressive recent updates for the app.
Two big new features in this update are:
– Image Gallery: tap on any image in an article to invoke it.
– Refine Your Topics List – a new swipe up from the bottom bar pulls up related topics.
Here are the other improvements and fixes in this latest Zite update:
· We’ve completely replaced Facebook sharing with iOS 6 native sharing. Besides being faster and slicker, this should eliminate the “An error occurred” problem.
Tweaks:
· You can now share and thumb up pages after following a link.
· Your search string is preserved when going back to the Explore page.
· You can now toggle whether modules appear from settings.
· Improved the image quality on iPhone.
Dead bugs:
· Fixed a bug that would prevent the sharing dialog to open after pressing ‘Share’.
· Fixed a crash when sharing to Pocket.
· Fixed a few rarely-occurring crashes.
Zite is a recent pick of mine for Best Free iPad App of the Week, and has become a real favorite and a fixture on my iPad mini’s first home screen.
