iPad Almost at Work – for the Pope and the Vatican

So the Pope sent out his first (and possibly last?) ever tweet yesterday, and he apparently posted it via an an iPad. The tweet was to announce the new News.va, The Vatican Today, site.

Dear Friends, I just launched News.va Praised be our Lord Jesus Christ! With my prayers and blessings, Benedictus XVI

It looks like quite a bit of effort may have gone into getting that tweet posted. There’s a great YouTube video showing the Pope’s first exposure to the iPad. He’s surrounded by a group of bishops who don’t give him much of a chance to do any tapping or interacting with the iPad. Every time the Pope cautiously lays a finger on the device there seem to be five others taking over for him.

As far as I know there is no ‘Pope Plays Angry Birds’ footage available online yet.
