The Ottawa Hospital has ordered 1,800 iPads for their staff. They’re also using a custom-designed app from a local company to help make their patient information mobile.
The iPads and the new app from Select Start will enable doctors and hospital staff to have a wealth of patient information in hand while at patients’ bedsides – including lab results, patient histories, allergy and medication data, and test results.
As long as security issues are being addressed, anything that puts essential patient information in doctors’ hands more easily and quickly has got to be a good thing. Nice work iPad.
