Damon Albarn – frontman for Gorillaz and Blur – has told the British music magazine NME that he has been recording the new Gorillaz album on his iPad.

Albarn said he has been working on a follow-up toPlastic Beach’ while on tour with the band.
"I’ve made it on an iPad – I hope I’ll be making the first record on aniPad," he said. "I fell in love with myiPad as soon as I got it, so I’ve made a completely different kind of record."
Albarn added that he wants to release the album "before Christmas".

Talk about versatile. The iPad is a huge consumer hit, making big inroads in the enterprise and among educational institutions, and now it’s being put to work to record an album for a major group. I’m keen to see what the results will be like – not long to wait to have a listen it sounds like.
