Gettysburg: The Tide Turns is an upcoming strategic wargame for iPad and iPhone, being developed by the wargaming All-Star team at Shenandoah Studio. This new title is being partially funded via a Kickstarter project and it has already met and surpassed its funding target in just a little over a week.
Last night Shenandoah Studio hosted a Google+ Hangout on Air to talk about Gettysburg: The Tide Turns and to make an exciting announcement about the game and the rewards available to project backers. The big news is that there will be a board game version of Gettysburg: The Tide Turns, made by Clash of Arms – a leading maker of tabletop wargames. The plan is that both the board game and the iPad version will be released around the same time in the first quarter of next year.
There are new options for backers of the project to get both versions of the game and some nice additional rewards starting at the $75 mark. I upgraded my pledge this morning and I can’t wait to play both the iPad and board versions of theis new Gettysburg game.
It was excellent listening to Eric Lee Smith, the lead designer of the game, answer questions and speak in great detail on Gettysburg: The Tide Turns during the Hangout last night. I thought I was excited about this game before – after hearing him talk about it my excitement level has gone way, way up.
If you haven’t already done so, check out the Gettysburg: The Tide Turns Kickstarter project soon, and get a pledge in to get some superb rewards and support a great iPad wargame studio.
