Angry Birds Rio HD is the iPad version of the latest installment of the all-conquering app phenomenon that is Angry Birds. I feel like with all the hype the franchise has been getting – Super Bowl ads, movie tie-ins (like this one), plush toys (three of which reside in my house) and so on – I should surely be over playing these games sometime soon.
It’s just not happening that way so far though. Last night I hit the iPad App Store looking for something entirely different but ended up grabbing Angry Birds Rio HD, and then immediately spent stupid amounts of time playing it – and finding it just as addictive as previous versions.
Just in case you haven’t already seen it, here’s a little of its App Store description:
In Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio de Janeiro, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to to save their friends, Blu and Jewel – two rare macaws and the stars of the upcoming Fox motion picture, Rio. Angry Birds Rio will pair the physics-based gameplay of the original game with unique twists based on the film.
Angry Birds Rio features:
– Two fantastic episodes with 60 exciting levels!
– Completely new achievements!
– Special Hidden fruits – discover them all!
– Put your Angry Birds skills to the ultimate test in a spectacular boss fight!
And an App Store link for Angry Birds Rio HD; it’s priced at $2.99.
