Everything old is new again, or so it would seem in the iOS jailbreak arena just now. The brand new jailbreak for just about all iPhone, Touch, and iPad devices – as in, for all those running firmware up to iOS 4.0.1 or in the case of the iPad 3.2 – is one that is done on the device, and via the Mobile Safari browser. This harks back to early 1.x jailbreak days – and the site is even the same URL as back in the day: JailbreakMe.com.
I haven’t tried this newest jailbreak just yet, on my IPad or iPhones. I may well give it a go on an iPhone over the next couple days – but my iPad is already jailbroken and I am actually more tempted to restore it to stock than to update the jailbreak on it. If you have already run this jailbreak on your iPad, we’d love to hear about your results in the comments.
If you are wanting to do this new jailbreak, you just need to visit the URL below – please always bear in mind the need for backup and sync prior to attempting any jailbreak and the inherent risks involved:
UPDATE: As you can see in the comments, it looks like this jailbreak is NOT working if your iPad is already at firmware version 3.2.1. I have altered the text in the first paragraph to reflect this as well. Thanks for sharing your results guys!
