I mentioned just a few days back that the iPad was named as 2010 Gadget of the Year by Engadget’s readers (over 100,000 of them). A couple days ago Engadget announced that it has also won Gadget of the Year in their 2010 Engadget Awards Editors’ Choice.

That’s a nice little double. Here’s the reasoning behind the editors’ pick of the iPad, and some praise for the Evo 4G, which was the runner-up:

The iPad won this one going away — there’s just no denying the influence Apple’s tablet had on the industry this year. But we think the Evo 4G will be remembered as the first of an entirely new breed of smartphones, and that’s pretty amazing too.
